Community theatre for adults
Alento Teatro Comunitário
Alento is the association’s adult theatre group: a space for encounter, expression and collective creation, open to people from the community.
Here, theatre is a tool for listening, sharing and making meaning. The work includes improvisation, stage writing, acting and the creation of performances rooted in local life.
The group brings together people from different cultural backgrounds and helps bring the Casa do Povo de São Martinho das Amoreiras to life.

Margarida Pedro
Margarida Pedro was born in Odemira. She learned traditional Alentejo painting in Montemor-o-Novo in 2017 and returned home to carry the technique on, which she also shares in workshops. Under her own name she makes contemporary art — papier-mâché pieces, some using materials discarded by the sea — and explores the deconstruction of traditional Alentejo painting. For CALMA CA’ALMA she created the set and visual production, bringing Alentejo painting onto the stage.
