An association built from the place itself

Amoreiras.info was born in 2017 in São Martinho das Amoreiras, from a wish to bring people together and give shape to shared initiatives. In a place where different generations, nationalities and life paths meet, the association creates opportunities for encounter through culture, learning and participation. Theatre, workshops, talks and moments together are ways of sharing experiences, discovering affinities and taking part in village life.

In 2025, an agreement with the Casa do Povo de São Martinho das Amoreiras gave the association a space for a regular programme. This historic building once again hosts rehearsals, activities and meetings, regaining a presence in everyday local life. The same year, the first AMOREIRAS FEST brought together residents, volunteers and local and international artists, creating new connections and showing what a community can achieve when it rallies around a shared project.

Today, Amoreiras.info develops its own productions, works in partnership with other organisations and helps people who live and work in the area bring their initiatives to life. Its activity grows out of these relationships and out of the people who bring ideas, time, experience and the will to act — building a cultural life rooted in the village, open to new proposals and made with those who take part.
